If you have a special occasion it is recommended that you book a trial run first approximately a month prior, this will ensure that the depth and shade of your tan is perfect for the event.

Pre Treatment Advice

  • Any hair removal treatments such as shaving or waxing should be performed the day before your appointment
  • It is recommended that you exfoliate your skin with exfoliating gloves and a specially formulated tanning body wash (gloves are not designed for the delicate facial skin, be sure to use a gentle exfoliant on your face). Be aware that some brands of washes may contain oils or other ingredients which may adversely effect the end tanning result
  • After showering, do not apply any products to your skin such as moisturiser, deodorant, perfume or make-up
  • Bring with you to your appointment; a brief dark coloured bathing suit or underwear to wear during your appointment. Alternatively, most salons offer disposable underwear or if you would prefer no tanning lines wear your birthday suit
  •   Bring with you to your appointment loose clothing together with thongs to wear afterwards

Post Treatment Advice

  • It is recommended that you do not shower, swim, do any physical activity that may cause perspiration, or apply products to your skin during the development time
  • Once your tan has developed you may shower, however it is recommended that you only use specially formulated Skin wash to cleanse your skin. Do not use any other body wash products, soaps or exfoliants as they may strip the tan
  • After showering, pat your skin dry with your towel rather than rub so as not to prematurely fade the tan
  • Once dry, it is recommended that you apply a Tan Extender lotion daily to maintain your tan and extend its longevity. (certain tanning solutions require that you do not initially apply tan extender for up to 8 hrs after rinse off as colour is still developing check with consultant if unsure)
  • Be aware that the colour of your tan is produced in the corneum layer of the skin this layer is very superficial and dead cells are continuously shedding this process naturally will lighten your tan. Due to this process lengthy time spent swimming and sweating can cause your tan to fade unevenly in certain areas
  • If you have a special event it is recommended that you have your tan around 24hrs prior to event as colour looks its best on day two
  • If you would like a tan but have built up tan residue left on your skin: leading up to your appointment try soaking in a very warm bath and then scrubbing with exfoliating gloves and body wash
  • If you would like to really extend the life of your tan to around 2 weeks use a gradual tanner daily after 3 days of having your tan. It is just like a moisteriser! Be sure to use the same brand as the spray tan you have. Try it, it really does work
